It is my pleasure to share some incredible news with the USOME Life family; our research pitch from the USOME Action was voted the best at the 2021 edition of the International Symposium on the Separation of Natural and Synthetic Macromolecules (SCM-X), and accordingly received the Community Award. The SCM is the global flagship conference for separation science. Please check out our award winning pitch on the following link: https://youtu.be/kFQUnHdNMNk

Today marks a very monumental milestone to us as the team behind USOME, we have just received news confirming our very first ever publication for this project. The article's title is: "Dealing with the complexity of conjugated and self-assembled polymer-nanostructures using field-flow fractionation", and it is published by Wiley in Analytical Science Advances. Coincidentally, this publication is also my first ever scientific review article. This is definitely one achievement of many to come as we roll-out our trailblazing USOME action! Many thanks and congratulations to my coauthors, Dr. Susi Boye and Prof. Albena Lederer.

In this article we reviewed some of the latest technology and science in designing and analyzing complex materials required for application in biomedical science. We focused mostly on the effective analysis of such materials using "field-flow fractionation", which is a contemporary separation technology much similar to chromatography.
